This page was designed to provide an interface between the users and a
database that store simulated
Ocean Color
data by the SeaWiFS satellite. This include sensors, scan line data, time,
mirror mode, bitmap images, and other data.
These are basic steps that you should follow to successfully run this
ineractive Java based system that allows you to manipulate and display
Simulated SeaWiFS Data:
- On the applet window, click on the Open Icon that is on the top bar menu. A schema of the database will be displayed on the window.
- Then, double click on the Category Sensor. A new window will appear
with text boxes and buttons. Then you have two choices: enter data on the
text boxes and click on Query or just click on Query to get all sensor data. Once,
the data is displayed, you can click on any of the buttons ( Next, Previous) to browse the information on the database.
- Having selected a sensor, double click on the relation
contains_op on the applet schema window. Another window will appear and as
before you have two choices: enter data in the text boxes and click on
Query or just click on Query to display all the information available in this category. Once, the data is displayed, the Next and Previous buttons to browse the information in
the database.
- Then, double click on the relation contains_scanline, or contains_point. In all cases, a window will appear
with text boxes and buttons. Again you can enter data on the
text boxes and click on Query or just click on Query to display all the information available on Scanline. Once,
the data is displayed, you can use the buttons ( Next, Previous)
to browse the information on the database.
- Alternatively, double click on the relation contains_map . A window
will appear with an empty area and four text boxes with X and Y coordinate values.
In this window users should draw a box with the mouse by clicking and draging the mouse until the desired area is covered. Then once the X and Y points are
selected. Click on the Query buttom on the main page screen
to query the database and display data for the selected area.
